A refractometer is designed based on the principle that liquids of different concentrations have different refractive indices. It has the advantages of speed, accuracy, light weight, and small size.
Usage
Open the cover plate (3) and carefully wipe the detection prism (2) with a soft cloth. Take a few drops of the solution to be tested and place them on the detection prism. Gently close the cover plate to avoid the formation of bubbles and allow the solution to spread over the surface of the prism. Aim the instrument at the light source or bright spot (3), observe the field of view through the eyepiece, and rotate the eyepiece adjustment handwheel (6) to make the blue white boundary of the field of view clear. The scale value of the boundary line is the concentration of the solution.
